The Most Annoying Overwatch Heroes

There are over 50 Overwatch characters in the game, each wielding different abilities to help the team or to take out other players. These abilities are a crucial part of the hero's kit in order to help their team win. Some of these hero kits are balanced and respected throughout the Overwatch community; however, there are some heroes that are deeply hated and often banned in ranked play due to their annoyance to other players. The most notorious of the players include Sombra, Tracer, Zarya, and Moira.

Let’s look at Moira. In lower ranks, Moira is a demon. Moira is considered one of the most unskilled heroes in the game due to her primary fire, a healing mist that mends allies. This fire has a meter; when the meter is depleted, you can use her grasp to damage enemies to recharge the meter. The grasp is where many players have an issue. The grasp locks onto the enemy, requiring minimal aiming. She can get in and get out without repercussions with her fade. She has an orb that can either heal allies or deal damage. She is mostly hated due to the lack of skill required throughout her kit.

Next up, we have the tank, Zarya. Zarya annoys players due to her primary fire. Her primary fire is a beam that gets charged by her bubbles, an ability that protects either Zarya or a teammate from incoming damage. The fire powers up Zarya’s beam with the more damage that the bubble takes. This frustrates players as the bubbles make it so a player can’t shoot another player, but they can shoot you. As a player, it is very hard to stop Zarya.

The previous heroes are annoying due to their simplistic gameplay, but Tracer is the opposite. Tracer is one of the hardest heroes to master in the game; however, a good Tracer player can run through what is known as a lobby. Tracer is a dive hero with three dashes and a recall. Basically, Tracer can get in and out with ease. The frustration players face from Tracer is when, as a player, you get Tracer low on health, but they recall to go back to full health. This allows Tracer to finish the player and return to the team in a matter of seconds, leaving players with broken keyboards and controllers.

Last, but certainly not least, is Sombra. Players really do not like Sombra. In competitive play, she is the most-banned hero. Her kit is meant to make your blood boil. She has a translocator that she throws and enables her to teleport. Once she teleports, she is invisible for five seconds. To add insult to injury, she can hack you, which locks you out and cancels all of your abilities. Her last ability is a virus that she throws out and damages you over time. The frustration stems from the combo of the hack plus the virus while she’s invisible. This results in you getting picked off before you can even react.
