Lollapalooza Overview

Lollapalooza is a music festival, famous for performances by lots of different artists across different genres, which around 400,000 people attend each year. It features A-tier music artists who are most notable from the year. This year, over 170 artists are performing across the four-day-long festival on 8 different stages. With Lollapalooza coming to Chicago and featuring genres such as alternative rock, heavy metal, punk rock, hip hop, pop, indie, and electronic dance music, excitement is rising within the music community. This music event lasts from July 31st to August 3rd of this year. Lollapalooza this year features performances from Olivia Rodrigo, Luke Combs, Sabrina Carpenter, and more!

The first day of Lollapalooza starts with a bang on July 31st. Several of the headline artists, such as Tyler, the Creator and Luke Combs, will perform that night. Other performances that night will be given by artists such as Gracie Abrams, Cage the Elephant, and Role Model. Lesser known artists performing Thursday include Alex Warren, Chicago Made, Barry Can’t Swim, Alexsucks, and more. This night, 43 different artists/groups will perform.

The second day of Lollapalooza has headliners Olivia Rodrigo and Korn performing. While Olivia Rodrigo’s performance will be primarily for the teenage girl audience, it is contrasted by Korn, which is a heavy metal band. Other artists performing that hold a significant level of popularity include Wallows, T-Pain, Bleachers, Foster the People, Isabel LaRosa, Del Water Gap, and more. This day also includes a performance from Gigi Perez, who recently has gone viral on TikTok for her music and several famous sounds. Some performances Friday are also coming from more underground artists and groups, such as Bladee, Flipturn, Tape B, The Dare, Ocean Alley, and more. This day also features 43 different performers.

The third day of Lollapalooza is not the most popular, with lesser-known artists Rufus du Sol and Twice being the headliners. However, other artists (that aren’t headliners) such as Doechii and Clairo are more popular among Gen-Z. This day also features performances from Young Miko, Marina, Montell Fish, Wasia Project, and more. Day three has 44 different performances.

Day four of performances ends on a high note, with headliners Sabrina Carpenter and A$AP Rocky closing off the festival. That Sunday night, Dominic Fike, Finneas, Remi Wolf, The Marías, and others will wrap up the festival powerfully.

For people interested in experiencing this spectacle, ticket prices range from $189 (for general admission for one day) to $2080 (for platinum tickets). Ticket prices for general admission for all four days start at $385. Tickets are sold on the Lollapalooza website. While some may complain that Lollapalooza is too long or too crowded, many who have gone to Lollapalooza describe it as nothing short of an extraordinary experience.
