The time has come! After a hiatus that lasted multiple years, Harry Styles will be releasing his fourth studio album, Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally, this Friday. This album will consist of twelve tracks. Alongside the release of a new album, Styles will also release a special on the following Sunday on Netflix, Harry Styles: One Night in Manchester, in which he performs the album.
Harry Styles, though recently seen running the Berlin Marathon, has been quite incognito since his last tour in 2022. Many fans, including myself, were questioning whether a new album was going to arrive or not. During his last performance for his final show on his previous tour, he exited the stage after playing a 10-minute piano ensemble. He explained that he would be taking a bit of a break after his tour. However, many of these questions were answered in late January, when Styles released his first single of the album, Aperture. The single also accompanied a music video, which was somewhat shocking to fans because, in the video, Styles was seen dancing and acting. His hiatus did not diminish his creative and artistic abilities.
However, in the face of all the excitement regarding the release of Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally, there is a great deal of discourse about Styles’ tour, Together, Together, for the album. In short, Styles is doing shows exclusively in New York City and Los Angeles: thirty shows in each city. There will be no international shows or shows in a separate US city. It goes without saying that the fans are angry about this--after years of waiting for a new album and a new tour, the celebration of both of those things is entirely inaccessible.
To make matters worse, the prices for the shows are objectively preposterous. The ticket prices were up to $1000; however, it was quite common for people to buy tickets and resell them for much more than the original price. A lot of fans are angry about the high prices on his tickets, especially since his last tour, Love on Tour, had a maximum original ticket price of $250. It was still common to see reselling of tickets for a higher price during his last tour, though it was not to the same extent as his new ticket prices.
With regards to his last albums, it is very likely that Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally will bring Styles a great deal of success: the revenue from Love on Tour was cumulatively over $600. The tour also reached 32 countries in 22 months, and Harry’s House has over 9 billion streams on Spotify as of right now. It is abundantly clear that Harry Styles fans are loyal, and with his past success in mind, he will likely reach new peaks in his creative career, despite the controversial tickets for Together, Together.
