Homecoming Football Game Preview

The week of September 22nd is Homecoming week! The Loveland Tigers face off against the Walnut Hills Eagles in a big showdown. The Tigers look to win this homecoming game to make sure that an amazing week of homecoming activities is capped off with a boom. On the other hand, the Eagles hope to force an upset, and knock the Tigers off as rulers of the Jungle. The week leading up to the big game is full of fun activities and community connection, adding to the excitement of the homecoming matchup.
Coming into this game, the Tigers are 1-4 with one more game against the Turpin Spartans to go before Homecoming. Walnut Hills is also 1-4, and has a game against Winton Woods before coming into Loveland for Homecoming Week. The Tigers are favored coming into this game due to a big win in the “Battle Of The Bell” against Milford, along with Walnut losing to Milford in week 2, in a 37-0 competition. This game is highly regarded as one of the most eventful and fun games of the season each and every year due to the amazing week-long events for this year's Homecoming.
After asking a few players what they look forward to in this upcoming Homecoming Week and game, these were a few responses. We asked, “What are you looking forward to in your first-ever homecoming game experience?"
Nick Manny-Henderson (9) responded, "I'm looking forward to the spirit week and the festivities, along with the events. Maybe get a chance if we get up by 40 of getting in the Friday night game and feeling that experience of playing under the lights.”
Brady Cook (10) explained, “The whole school is going to be there, so hopefully the stadium is gonna be rocking and I hope it's loud and hopefully we dominate to the point that JV can get in the game and I can get in the game and make some plays, maybe even score a TD.”
Charlie Dewitt (11) said, “I'm excited to put 60 on Walnut and then hang out with my boy Bob at hoco.”
Dalton Schotmiller (12) said, “I'm excited for Thursday and getting to throw candy at the parade, and Friday wearing class colors and to win the football game and have a great Saturday to get to hang out with friends and dance and listen to music at hoco.”
Overall, people all around the school are excited for this upcoming homecoming game and all the festivities and excitement that come with it. Make sure to show up to watch the Loveland Tigers face off against the Walnut Hills Eagles, and be ready to go all out for spirit week and have a blast at homecoming! Go Tigers!
