The Top Five Super Bowl Contenders

As the NFL regular season comes to a close, the list of teams primed to make a run for the Lombardi keeps shortening. Lots of teams came out of the gates firing on all cylinders and have since slowed down mightily. Other teams have turned their seasons around from rocky beginnings to playoff contenders. The NFL is still very much open, and statistically speaking a number of teams have a shot to win it all, but here are the five teams I’d bet on.

At number five I have a bit of a surprise for most people, The Philadelphia Eagles. I think The Eagles are currently the best team in the NFL and I’m well aware of that, but the playoffs are a very different atmosphere than the regular season. Jalen Hurts was subpar in his matchup against the Buccaneers in a 15-31 loss to The Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium. He only completed 53% of his passes and found the endzone once in the fourth quarter when the game was all but over. Although he struggled, it is a new season. Jalen Hurts now has A.J. Brown, and Hurts has really started to play at a consistently high level. Will that be enough to drag them to a Lombardi? we’ll have to find out.

At number four I have the Buffalo Bills. saying the Bills have the fourth-best odds to win the Super Bowl is shocking to most people. The Bills are honestly not as talented as people give them credit for. Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs just cover up such a large amount of the issues the Bills have. The real question for the Bills is if the rest of the roster can step up and give Allen and Diggs a shot to win games. If they do that, they may take the Lombardi back to Orchard Park.

At number three I have the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys are just a great football team. Dak has proved he is capable of leading a potent offense, and that stingy Cowboys defense has proven time and time again that they can compete with anybody. The only remaining question is if they can avoid choking on the big stage like the Cowboys teams of the past have fallen victim to.

At number two I have the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals are the poster child for getting hot at the right time. They are currently riding an 8 game-win streak and have looked unstoppable. If Joe Burrow has at least one of his three-star receivers healthy, the Bengals are a constant threat to run it back and actually win this time. Joe and Ja’Marr are one of the most lethal duos that have ever graced the gridiron. If the two of them are healthy defenses are going to be hard-pressed to find a stop for the tandem.

At number one, I have the Kansas City Chiefs. That is because of one man, Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes never ceases to amaze me, his arm talent, mobility, and poise is inhuman. As long as he stays healthy the Chiefs are threats to win the big game every year. Kelce and Mahomes are an incredible duo and will likely continue to dismantle defenses, even on the biggest stage.
