ScoopAble Ice Cream

ScoopAble, located in Loveland, is an Ice Cream shop. They are not the ordinary ice cream shop seen every day, though; they only employ individuals with disabilities. Their goal with this, according to ScoopAble.net, is to create a more inclusive community, as well as help their employees develop better everyday skills such as resilience and problem-solving. By hiring individuals with disabilities, they convey the message that those individuals have many important and amazing skills to bring to the world and the workforce. 

They have many standout employees, including a former LHS student, Augie! Augie graduated from LHS last year, and according to the ScoopAble website, has worked many other jobs, including other restaurants and retail, through the study program at Loveland High School. Augie also has his own non-profit organization called Augie's Adventures. He is currently a scooper, and his favorite flavor is mint chocolate chip. Other employees' favorite flavors differ from Augie’s because of the vast number of delicious flavors ScoopAble has to offer. Some of the flavors offered at ScoopAble are Blue Raspberry Chocolate Chip, their signature ice cream, Banana Pudding, a gluten-free Cookie Monster, and their flavor of the month, Gold Ribbon. 

They are also having a vote on their website right now, where anyone can vote on what fall flavor they would like to be served at the shop. The flavors that people can pick from are Cinnamon Roll Delight, suggested by 10.5-year-old Hazel; Ghostbuster, suggested by Cincinnati Ghostbuster; Loveland Tiger Tracks, suggested by 39-year-old Jannett; Snickerdoodle dough, suggested by 26 and 24-year-old Anastaisa and Hayley, and Bacon me Crazy, suggested by 3-year-old Genevive. These fall flavors will be out soon, so be sure to check them out!

ScoopAble is located on 6405 Branch Hill Guinea Pike in Loveland, OH 45140. Their hours are Sunday - Thursday, 12 - 9 pm, and Friday & Saturday, 12 - 10 pm.
